ios - SMS default contact name -
whenever receive text message services (namely google , blablacar), see service name sender (like if in contacts) instead of ugly phone number, appears when text message comes other services (snapchat, hello bank).
i don't know if app service needs installed on iphone service name appear instead of phone number : have blablacar app installed , (of course) 1 of google apps (maps), sms google confirm phone number created google account computer, not on phone. text message cannot "come from" ios app.
when click sender "contact" button , info icon, can see real sender phone number (ex 4 66 45 3 google , 2 52 25 22 27 blablacar).
i have never added phone numbers contacts myself, neither see "contacts" in contacts.
i know how made, can same when sending text message server.
are there kind of pre-embedded default hidden contacts in ios ?
is there field fill in app plist file "default app phone number" didn't see ?
is kind of registration process apple can associate phone number specific name ?
thanks
alright, looking in wrong direction, has nothing ios, apple, or ios app setting, feature of short message system called sender id.
here thread lead me answer : http://developer.nokia.com/community/discussion/showthread.php/109878-how-to-send-sms-with-sender-name
this ability set sender id offered many of sms sending platforms (clickatell, smscountry, blastsms...), apparently might not work in every country.
here can find info : http://www.smscountry.com/custom-sender-id.aspx
hope if wonders me "how hell google has put contacts ?" !
